I am U. I have two kids and work for a Not-for-Profit Organization to help young people in need while working for Mamasan&Company.

That’s right. I am a busy Mum but loving that!

In this blog, I would like to write about phrases I come across day in day out in Australia;
Growth Mindset and Strength Focus

Growth Mindset

Opposite of Growth Mindset is Fixed Mindset.

Example of them;

Growth Mindset	Fixed Mindset
Mistakes = chances to learn	Mistakes = failure
I try different ways when to succeed	I give up when I can’t do it
I face challenges	I avoid challenges
I try more	This is too hard

Good enough? Can I stop now?  How can I do it better?

People with Fixed Mindset may look better, but people with Growth Mindset learn and develop skills.

When supporting young people in needs in Australia, I try to have Growth Mindset and I encourage them to have one too, so they can build more skills and resilience.

Strength Focus

I always try to look at people’s strengths rather than just pointing out their weaknesses and faults and to make sure that my kids or young people are able to play to their strengths.

To be honest with you, that’s really hard sometimes especially when your little one throws so many tantrum through out a day every day.

However, I believe that strength focus actually helps me grow as a parent or person too.

I thought Growth Mindset and Strength Focus are Western culture things, but I changed my mind lately.

Mamasan&Company

Mamasan&Company is a Japanese company of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) for companies and telework for workers.

I started to work here as I wanted to start new thing and can work from home between school and activity-runs.

Soon after starting to work, I realized that Mamasan&Company has Growth Mindset and Strength Focus.

They have lots of clients so there are lots of work teams in the company.
Each of the workers works hard and supports one another.
We always think how to make things better and make efforts for better.

Even if someone makes a mistake, we don’t accuse the person.
We look at the mistake and try to turn the mistake into chances to improve.

Our positive approach does not stay only inside of the company but also reaches out our clients. We listen to our clients and always seek better ways together.

Working for Mamasan&Company is very inspiring to me.
I work from home in Australia, but I feel like I am in a part of Japanese community with a positive work culture.
