OK, Halloween is over and winter time is back. That means… It is almost Thanksgiving!!!
I do not know how popular Thanksgiving is in Japan nowadays. So, I want to tell you what Thanksgiving is and what our family does.(It is kind of the traditional way though.)
1. Family Gathering
Families and friends are eager to reunite this holiday season. Adjust our schedule to gather and celebrate this time beforehand for a long time. I know this challenging time (Covid-19) makes this harder…
2. Give Thanks at the Table
We make a lot of meals to thank God.
Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Green Bean Casserole, Carrot Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts…etc…
I can say it is like a Japanese new year’s meal. You know, it is “Gochisou”. lol
3. Playing a Board Game
This is the best family thing to do especially for grandparents I think.
Do you know “scrabble”? I do not know how to explain it. The shape looks like a “CrossWord Puzzle” but you need to make a word by yourself. You need to use your brain and knowledge. hahaha!!!! Grandparents are super duper strong at this time.
4. Watch Your First Official Christmas Movie
And, this is my favorite thing. Kids are tired and almost sleeping. Fall is…over!!! What is next??
YES!!! It is Christmas!!
I bet you guys feel the same way I feel. Time to get ready for Christmas!!! ”Woo‐Hoo!!!!”
This is how we do it on Thanksgiving.
